Sepultura has been one of the most influential metal bands of the last fifteen years. The Brazilian quartet can be held responsible for both thrash classics (Beneath The Remains, Arise,) and pioneering albums (Chaos A.D. and Roots). Especially Chaos A.D. was successful in crossing metal with Latin. Beside that, it had one of the best metal productions ever.
In the original lineup, Sepultura conquered the world for over a decade, constantly attracting larger groups of fans. That all changed when frontman Max Cavalera decided to leave the band. From that moment on, Sepultura 'was,' no more, no matter how hard the rest of the band tried by getting a new singer, recording a new album, and continuing to tour. This double CD is a registration from Max's last Sepultura show ever. It was recorded at the Brixton Academy, London, during the Roots tour in '96. Naturally, that show featured a lot of the Latin-influenced Sepultura, which is the reason the band got picked up by such a huge audience. Luckily, there are also several classic thrash songs to be heard. And a bunch of covers. Even a Cro-Mags cover is played, with the help of some members of support act Strife (funny, they used to be a lot better too). There's a little something for everyone, all coming in over 100 minutes of footage. The sound is more than okay, for a live CD.
This is probably Roadrunner's last chance to milk an old cash cow.It is up to you to determine whether you like live albums very much.
