12", Wally's Groove World/NEWS

After almost three years of vinyl releases, Wally's Groove World takes it one step further and brings us its first full-length album on CD and 2x12". With Marius' 'Balance' the Belgian label's got a good chance of finally putting itself firmly on the European map, 'cause this is top quality deephouse. The whole album breathes that typical jazzy and spaced-out WGW-sound, spread out over nine tracks (14 on the CD-version). The majority of them are pretty downtempo and go perfectly with a lazy Sunday afternoon mood. Great lounge stuff for house freakz, with tracks like 'Dancing for Two', 'Magic Curtain', 'Sonic Turbulence', 'Ocean Breeze', and the jazzy trip 'Green Stars' (CD only). Sometimes the jazzy improvisation gets a bit too cheesy for my taste, like in 'Ride this Wave' or 'Sensual Oasis' (CD only), but that can't spoil the overall fun. The cherry on the cake is 'Blunted Spiral', a floorfiller with a killer bassline and lots of good vibes. Quality stuff!
