What can we expect from Korn? After two rather experimental albums - their debut-album 'Korn' and its successor 'Life is Peachy' - the band became rather popular with their third release 'Follow the Leader', a more commercial and melodic album than its predecessors. Korn even hit the charts successfully with 'Freak on a leash', a song taken from 'Follow the Leader'. So now there is this fourth album, called 'Issues'. Is it as commercial and melodic as 'Follow the Leader'? No, it isn't, but it's still very melodic. Is it as experimental as the first two albums? No, it isn't, but Korn are still experimenting on this album and they are searching for new boundaries. What we hear on this album still IS Korn, but this time the sound approaches the sound of bands like Orgy and Videodrone (both bands released an album on Korn's Elementree label) more than ever before. Perhaps that's the reason why I keep listening to this album, and like it very, very much. Perhaps Korn really IS the leader, and will always be that in this genre. If you buy this album now, you'll get a nice free bonus-CD with five extra songs.
