After three albums with the band Julia P. Hersheimer, she's back as a solo-artist with her new album Victory. And now simply known as Julia P. Still recognizable because of the striking voice which sometimes reminds me of Beth Orton. Varied songs on which she plays the instruments by herself. But also featuring some special guests like Spy-Fi, JB Myers (ex-Supersub), Jeroen Kleijn (Daryll-Ann, Scram C Baby) and a whole blow-orchestra. This orchestra plays on the most beautiful song of the album: 'Good Life'. Although it's a singer/songwriter album you have the feeling you hear a whole band especially on rock-outs like 'Aerobic Bum'. The album is most of the time very tranquil which really brings out her voice. Hopefully this album will bring Julia P. the attention she has already deserved with her previous albums. Unfortunately there aren't any songs with will climb the charts, you have to listen to the album as a whole. But we're not really waiting for hit singles when you have this: Victory!
