John Tejada is one of those very consistent techno producers who have been
at it for years, building a steady fanbase for his subtle minimal techno.
After loads of 12"s on labels like Palette, Ferox and A13 and albums on the
British Defocus label Tejada's latest album appears on Californian leftfield
imprint Plug Research. Daydreams In Cold Weather consists of the same
ingredients as albums like The Matrix Of Us: abstract minimal techno with a
warm feel to it. This album has twelve tracks of subtle electronica in
Tejada's own style. Though Daydreams In Cold Weather has a few excellent
tracks on it, like the IDM-like Young for example, overall the music lacks
the intensity to keep my attention for the whole hour. Nice
stuff but nothing heartbreaking.
