By releasing "Almaviva" two french DJ's called DJ BNX and David Walters finally present their interesting debut album. With the collaboration of 7 musicians and singers, this release is an eclectic mixture of musical styles. And if we say eclectic we do mean eclectic: from four-to-the-floor beats over latino flavours, jazzy breakbeats and comforting chill out melodies to mysterious downtempo triphop with intriguing eastern vocals and themes for kitschy seventies television series, this cd offers an amazingly wide spectrum of moods and sounds. Amazingly because, whether it's programming, playing live instruments, working with decent vocalists and choosing subtle samples, they seem to master it all. Another fine example of the fact that the best soundtracks to a Friday night cocktail-soirée originate from France.
