Yrrwe Zsuzyrrwe is a new Dutch industrial/noise project. 'Xytrobuzyrrwe', their first release, is an 8 track cd-r released by The Noise Department, an industrial noise promotion agency from the Netherlands. '7 Blocks Ahead' is a 7 track cd released through MP3.COM, on which more songs by YZ can be found. Mainman behind both Yrrwe Zsuzyrrwe and The Noise Department is Marco V. Before starting YZ he was involved in other industrial projects like Legal Injury and Hydlide (now known under the name Ex IQ). For live performances Marco has recruited Tanja for percussion and "live creativity". The music on 'Xytrobuzyrwwe' is a mixture of industrial sounds with a somewhat old-fashioned feel to them and industrial/noise dance music. Some of the sounds used remind me of pieces of early Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. Combined with the dance elements of harsh contemporary industrial and noise music such as distorted basslines and heavy crashing drums thisresults in very loud and pounding dance music with lots of noisy sounds, in the same vein as acts like Asche and Converter. My favorite tracks are 'Desirhar', a good dance track with old school industrial sounds, P*A*L's over the top remix of this song and 'Farhunew', which combines electro and industrial in a very danceable mix. This last track can also be found on their second release, '7 Blocks Ahead'. This album is much like 'Xytrobuzyrwwe' except that some songs are a little bit less rough. There are some more of the usual sounds in the mix instead of noises only like on the first release. This doesn't mean this album has become easy listening. It is still harsh industrial/noise dance music. The overall feeling of the music of YZ is that of machines running wild, that in a strange way they still produce danceable rhythms. It is not unlike 'factory dance music' like Test Dept used to make, only in a very modern way.
