Damn, I think I am getting old.....
I know that there have been times that anything that wasn't fast oldskool hardcore or really brutal
metalcore was:
A) not coming from my stereo
B) for hippies (in my opinion)
Well,(as Freddy Madball would say) times are changin'.
Waterdown was formed from the ashes of four German metalbands, including Caliban.
The music this band is playing now, hasn't got anything to do with the musical history of Caliban.
When I listen to Waterdown, I am thinking of a mix between Deftones, Ignite and Avail.
The first four songs on this CD are also the best ones (not that the rest of the songs suck).Especially 'Impress me' and the first single from this record, 'Round two'.
The last song is in German, and since I ain't no Rammstein fan, this track is the only one I never listen to.
Well, it's the last song, so it probably is a joke and nothing serious.
But the first eleven songs on this album are brilliant crossovers between emo, hardcore and rock.
