2001: A Rock 'n' Roll Odyssey? If I were not the cold, cynical scientist I am I might find significance in the fact that this year album after album has been released that sounds like it was made in 1968, the year of the release of Kubrick's '2001'. Now I think it is just coincidence. I hate that film anyway, but I love those rock 'n' roll records. Vue from San Francisco are the latest addition to a harvest that already includes gems from The Hives, The Flaming Sideburns, The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs, The Strokes and labelmates Zen Guerrilla. All these bands make up for what they lack in originality in pure quality. Vue delivers with 'Find Your Home' a mix of equal parts Rolling Stones and Doors that contains 9 floorfillers and 1 experimental instrumental. Highlights are 'Do You Think Of Him Still?' and 'Pictures Of Me'. Short review? It's rock 'n' roll. It's great. What else is there to say?
