The rain, the wind and the falling leaves got every bit of summer vibes out of my body, but that's no excuse for not playing summery albums. Because that's what the third volume of 'Transatlantik Lounging' is all about. 'Exotic vibes, mystik moods and caribbean cool'. Fourteen tracks compiled by dutch dj Enrico Riva. A lot of fine tracks by mostly unknown artists, like the nice opener by Fresh Moods (top lounge music), Ambrosia by A Reminiscent Drive, Nacho Sotomayor (Ibiza at it's best), Deadly Avenger (a true gem with warm and deep sounds) and Bang Bang (adding some melancholy to it). But the track selection is not a succes from the beginning 'till the end. Quite a few artists only manage to get on my nerves. Like Syncromatic Dubsters (a fusion of reggae and childish electro), Chicane (with a misplaced reinterpretation of Manuel Gûttschings 'E2E4') and Interloper (trying too hard to be tough). 'Transatlantik Lounging' doesn't bring the kind of intense music that'll grab you by the throat, but this cd works perfectly as background music.
