The Total Science crew is real busy these days, carving its name into the halls of drum&bass fame. Stringing together a series of excellent releases, this latest one on 31 Records further establishes the duo as one of the new leading collectives on the scene. Bringing it to you dark and moody with 'Get it on', the duo demonstrates the age-old principle of beauty through simplicity by laying down an effective breakbeat, adding some sparse effects and topping it off with a bassline from way back that goes way beyond. 'Altered States', on the other hand, is bound to ripple the dancefloor with it's uptight and nervous lay-out. It's still subtle though, no growling or dropping the amen. And it's got some female vocals in it, what more could you want?
