It's five in the morning, you're out of your mind on Mezcal (among other things), and you don't know whether you're on the floor in some high-class disco in Acapulco being solicited for sex by a groovy, yet coked-up-out-of-her-wits Latina soap actress, or that you're stuck and wasted together with some hot mamacita in the toilet of a Tijuana whorehouse. All you can think of at this moment can be captured in one elegant phrase: "FUCK IBIZA!". That's Titan¼s 'Elevator' for ya... Already one of the year's funkiest, freakiest and most enjoyable dance records, and the makers are not even from Paris, Bristol, London or Detroit. Titan hail from Mexico City (si!) and they're superbad, y'all! With its catchy yet subversive take on clubpop, fat and downright filthy Daft Punk-styled disco breaks, warped noises and all-out twisted vibe and tongue- in-cheek humor, this album will probably be played in every alternative joint with some sort of dancefloor (otherwise feel free to dance on the bar if you're drunk enough...) this side of wherever for quite some time to come. One thing though: That cover of the Starsky & Hutch theme is kinda flat. Skip it. All other things considered, if this record doesn't actually make you dance, nothing willäBeing deaf or suffering from spinal cord injury, by the way, is not an excuse.
