Recently we received the self-titled debut EP of the Pope Factory, a new group from Welland (Ontario) who describe themselves as a psychedelic rock group with strong melodies. Their music sounds like a mix between Pink Floyd, Mercury Rev and sometimes even My Bloody Valentine. Psychedelic definitely but not always strong melodies, though songs like Smug and The Waitpoint show they have definitely talent. It's the kind of group you have to see live in a small dark venue with a double whiskey in your hand. If you like psychedelic rock, keep an eye on them.
