Weeehooow! Another fine album that proves Scandinavia is the rock 'n roll place to be nowadays! But the kind of rock 'n roll on 'Soulshaker' goes beyond the usual Hellacopters/Backyard Babies styled rock 'n roll. Absolutely nothing wrong with those bands, not at all, but The Chronics from Umea, Sweden (a place better known for its hardcore scene!?!) play some sort of sixties roots rock 'n roll you don't hear very often. Opening track 'Put 'm down' makes you wanna dance from the first tone and you won't stop till the end of 'Dragster Man', the last track on the album. Important element in the music is the prominent presence of the catchy organ-tunes. But the garage rock influences give this album a cutting edge, which I guess ensures that the people who like the usual rock 'n roll style as mentioned above will like 'Soulshaker' too.
