Belgian guy Arne van Petegem, already known as "Tin Foil Star" but soon to be also known as "Styrofoam", has released a beautiful little gem called 'The Point_misser' on German label Morr Music. 45 minutes of warm, catchy melodies, distorted beats, light-headening rhythms, and rambling vocals "throw the intellectualized sense of chaos into a true chaos of the heart and senses", as described by Steve Erickson's novel 'The Sea Came in at Dawn', inspiring this release. A sad, yet hopeful tone of voice is the overall feeling, materialising as a contemporary evolution of classical Warp stuff, early Locust, and the µ-ziq releases on Rephlex. Instant classics such as 'Heaven is Burning' and 'Psychic Friends Network' make this release obligatory in its category.
