Specimen is the one-man project of Speciman aka Partick Delabie. And don't be
fooled by appearances: Speciman might look like your average 30-something
indierocker in his retro Adidas tracksuit on the photo on the backcover, but
'I Don't Wanna Be Your Dog' is one monster of a punk rock album.
As the title suggests, the basis is a Detroit style sound, but Specimen
includes every kind of music invented ever since, as long as it kicks ass.
Delabie both knows how to use his fuzz- and distortion-pedals and to lay down
a drum sound with 16-cilinders driving power, a pretty unique feat for a
one-man project. Some tracks are not much more than a fuzz-distortion monster
sound, but that is more than compensated for by such killers as 'Backwards',
'I'm Here', 'Like It Or Not' and 'Kaleidoscope'.
