Release number 15 in the series. Again it's a showcase, offering a variety of club music. A double-CD, 30 tracks and various (well)known names: DJ Rush, Bob Sinclar, Storm, Spirit Attack, Darude. Some of the tracks are already hits, others might still make it to the top of the charts, and some are more known to a smaller in-crowd. Such a CD is mostly appreciated by a certain kind of clubber: the one reaching out to beats, but without any special adherence to certain "styles". Nothing there for you if you are looking for a specific experience. For those hitradio adherents out there, the top 50 adepts, and others, this CD might be most appealing. For some a trip through dance-nation, for some just a collection of boredom. I might be more on the side of the latter ones, nevertheless some tracks are more then appealing to me. What's to be found on this double-pack? On CD1 you will find Storm with their track 'Time to Burn' (already made it hitwise), and also Darude's 'Sandstorm' (being played globally). My favourite on CD1 is Russian Roulette (aka DJ Rush) with 'Clap Your Hands'. Track number six (Dave Kane's 'Show') reminds a little of Robert Armani. And though I am more of a house and techno lover, track eight (Cygnus and and their 'Superstrings' rank 1 remix) is a fantastic trance track. Track 13 is a really bad remake of Anne Clark by Bandit. But undoubtedly some will appreciate it (depending on the fastness of their wave-roots). And for you disco lovers out there you will feel the vibes when listening to the last track of CD1: Bob Sinclar, feeling for you. CD2 then, which starts off with DJ Rush remixed by DJ HS unfortunately. I prefer the original version of 'I Believe'. Track three is a regular funky loop with floor potential (DJ Sandy vs Sinesweeper with 'Touch me'). To me track seven was a revelation. A truly dubby and down-tempo track by Halo Varga presents my sound. The tenth tune, 'Squelch' by TDR, is another of those typical floorfillers if you prefer funky tunes with a lot of power behind them. Number 13 (in this case not the unlucky one) is another nice and smooth funky tune which makes you long for the 70ties again. And finally, the best track on CD2: Simon's 'Free at Last'. I know, Martin Luther King has been used and abused by many producers and in many musical forms of expression, but this tune brings him back alive and makes him move people again. So, as a compilation this CD is more then OK. I am sure that many people out there will buy it and dance to it. And even I, as a so-called purist, enjoyed quite a few tracks.
