Skinnah | Hyperbole / Metaphysical

Apparently Skinnah is enjoying himself at the Dutch Ruff-Teck label. 'Hyperbole/Metaphysical' is his forth release in a short time. Skinnah's drum&bass is getting more extreme. Both 'Hyperbole' and 'Metaphysical' refer to the industrial sound of artists like Technical Itch, Decoder, Source Direct and of course Ruffneck himself. Skinnah however is far more minimalistic in his approach. 'Hyperbole' only consists of a fierce breakbeat with dark acidbasses tearing the track apart. 'Metaphysical' is even more extreme. Also try spinning this record at 33 pm thus getting a great slow breakbeat track. Great release by Skinnah. New at Ruff-Teck is the limited edition line. The first issue contains two classic Dutch drum&bass tracks. Ancronix' 'Shadow Force' is one of the best drum&bass releases ever, sounding like an old danceable darkcore track but getting deeper and deeper. B-side 'Figurehead' by, yes again, Skinnah has a less hectic drum rhythm but containing a persistent deep bassline and is much more atmospheric and sci-fi like. Only a pity that there are only 350 copies of this re-release. Glad I am one of the lucky ones.
