Why not start your record with a confession? "I know I am not original, or even typical." Who said wearing your influences on your (record)sleeve was a crime? If it was, this quartet would be guilty as charged. 'The Blue Law' contains all of the necessary ingredients for the perfect indie pop record. It is all jangly guitars, which not only conjure up the summer, but take you back to Unrest's 'Imperial F.F.R.R.' or even the Feelies. From 'Goodbye' to 'Crash', singer-guitarist Scott Garred ponders mostly about love, lost and found. Who said indie pop was dead? The Wedding Present might have stopped singing about love; Silver Scooter is alive and kicking in Austin Texas. Sweet.
