Rumsfield | Cassette Sampler

Rumsfield's debut-album 'Violent Mood Swings' will be in stores very soon. But until that time I'll have to listen to a cassette-sampler containing two songs from their forthcoming album; 'This Fix' and 'Whale Tears'. Rumsfield write good, emotional songs, with a nice melody and heavy riffs. After listening to this sampler, I don't really know which way Rumsfield wants to go. I have the idea their style is some kind of heavy 'new-grunge', but, especially in the first song of this sampler, I discover some 'nu-metal influences', although perhaps it wasn't their intention. Rumsfield themselves describe their style as heavy with freedom. Their album has to make clear which way this band really wants to go. Until that time I'll keep listening to my sampler.
