Henry Rollins and his search-and-destroy rock outfit have released a double CD recorded live at the Metro, Chicago, IL: one of Rollins' favorite venues in the world. Muscle-and-tattoo museum powerman Rollins has had a reputation as one of the best and most energetic performers on the live circuit for ages. It's the intensity present at gigs which is often missing in his studio recordings. This perfect live recording captures the stage animal and his Mother Superior backing band at an absolute high. The show takes off like a shotgun to the head and never gives the audience a chance to catch its breath. In the booklet, Rollins jibes at bands that can't cut it live, calling them an insult to a paying audience. The small and probably sweaty crowd in the beautiful Metro club certainly got their money's worth, and now everyone can experience the raw power and passion of one rock's great workmen. Author, poet, songwriter, commentator, and enigmatic frontman Henry Rollins hurries us through an impressive set list of 28 songs with no fillers, only absolute killers of brutal, hammering hard rock. The second disc has an enhanced section with videos and pictures too. This little treat really shows that Rollins has heart for his fans.

I can hardly imagine a better way to get up close and personal with Rollins in your living room than this live CD. The only way to know for sure if a band has the balls and ability to keep things real onstage is to go and feel them live. This double disc set is a very good second.
