Ray Mang is Raj Gupta, who in the last decade has been dishing out plates of greasy funked-up house under various monikers and with various artists, such as Quakerman, Block 16 and the Idjut Boys. On "Mangled" we find a collection of previously released and now hard to find tracks on different labels like Leaf, R&S, Spectrum and Fiasco.
It's like entering a sizzling hot disco club where the end-of-seventies have been imported into the 21st century. The atmosphere is so dense you can cut it in thick slices, and the mood is downright sexy. The funky people are shaking their booties to the percussive sounds of the disco and house that Mang built. He does not allow anyone to step back and relax - you just have to keep moving to this.
