While Acetate Recordings is aiming at the harder and louder segment of the drum&bass scene, Purified Audio aims at funky jazzy atmospheric drum&bass. With success. The first three releases contain fine elemental drum&bass with a sunny vibe. The same goes with the fourth release by Radiance who also made the first one. Radiance has the quality to make easy, subtle drum&bass with much energy, a sunny feel and nice rolling basslines. 'Tuna Salad' also has some mean elements in it, but stays very open and atmospheric. Pure jazzy is 'Lalo's Beat' that stands out with its superb jazzy drumbreaks that sound very organic. Radiance has the gift to make music that sounds like the best Good Looking stuff and still is different. Let's hope Radiance holds to this high standards.
