After listening the first two songs from this album, I'm already desperately beginning to long for a really pissed-off rock'n'roll singer, with his pants down and an electric guitar in his ass. Those of us looking for innocent music to keep their bowl of goldfish quiet, keep on reading. Neither Jewel nor Britney Spears can keep up with Paula Kelley when it comes down to the sweetest voice in pop music. Don't get me wrong, because I don't have anything against harmless, peaceful music, but Paula Kelley's loud whisperings makes me want to grab a bottle of whiskey and play AC/DC all night long. The most frustrating thing about this disc is that the music is quiet good, with Paula Kelley on acoustic guitar, mellotron, tambourine, and toy piano. Though if this was an instrumental album, it wouldn't be any more interesting. Most of the radio-friendly, often poppy tunes come and go, but they don't stay with you for very long. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but it's all quit directionless and - to keep this review short - boring. There may come a time when Paula Kelley finds her way to the radio, but I would rather see her vanish into the vaults of obscurity.
