Patrick Forge, international man of good taste, has completed his second round-up of all things jazzy, soulful and funky for the internet-only Trust The DJ series. Again thirteen pearls-for-swine are, as if it were business-as-usual, thrown in our direction. Izzi Dunn's quintessential Betcha, our record of the year, starts up the party big style. Other top tunes come from Phil Asher (with his re-work of the Ethiopian singer Gigi), John Beltran (with the nostalgic bossa sway of Felecidad Nova) and Swell Session vs Ernesto (with the already classic Let Me Decide). And that Forge need not be ashamed of his own output either is proven here by the Bugz In The Attic mix of Da Lata's Golden and Da Lata's remix for Grupo Batuque. The true moment of ecstasy is saved for last when Patife and Madzoo take on Cleveland Watkins' Torch Of Freedom for a jubilant d'n'b outburst. Real music for real people, he added chin-strokingly.
