Frankly speaking I wasn't very fond of Panacea's collaboration with Hanoy. Panacea's later material is much different from his early hardcore drum'n'bass stuff or the hectic samplemadness of his alter ego Bad Street Boy. The fresh ravelike sound has disappeared in favour of a much more experimental approach. 'The Hardest Tour On Planet Earth' brings good news. Together with old buddy Cativo he is bringing us ten tracks (eight on the vinyl version) full of tasty old school cookies. With success. Just listen to opener 'Power Of Darkness' in which Panacea combines extremely low throbbing basses, hectic amenbreaks with ravelike female vocals. This is what drum'n'bass should sound like. Just give this record to Bad Company and friends. But the continuous thread in this album is not drum'n'bass but the somewhat brute marriage between old rave and 'artcore elements and modern breakbeat. That makes this album sound opportunistic and direct without being ambitious. Charming. Just listen to Panacea's brilliant raveversion of Aphrodite's 'King Of The Jungle' or the fast old school breaks of Cativo's 'Red Alert'. This is fun stuff. Music that reminds you of Atari and Commodore games, early rave parties, breakdancing and smilies (acciiiiiiddd!!). Just enjoy Panacea's return into the world of pure entertainment.
