Brace yourself before you listen to this one, because this is no ordinary album and it's certainly not fitted for the faint-hearted. Neil Landstrumm provides us his look on the state of modern Western living in an eleven track inferno that will leave you grasping for air. Listening to 'She Took A Bullet Meant For Me' is a bit like watching a Michael Haneke movie: it's incredibly intense and it kinda fucks you up, but it's an experience well worthwile. It all starts with the excellent opening track 'Bullet Proof', that sounds a bit like Landstrumms 1996 floorfiller 'Praline Horse', with the same kind of throbbing bass and fucked up sounds. 'Indulge Me' goes even further, with black synth washes going completely berserk untill a piano theme provides some kind of relief. But Landstrumm not only gives us fucked up experimental techno, there's also fucked up triphop with 'Mute Hop Robo Cop' (dj Shadow on a bad trip) and 'Sufficiently Evil' (build around an aggressive loop). Landstrumm even goes political with the very impressive 'USA Wants More Oil, Thanks', a track that has an inexplicable sad feeling about it. This is not only one of the most impressive techno albums ever made, it also breaks every boundary and takes the genre two steps further. Although it must be said, after a complete run you might feel like listening to some Mozart.
