Although it isn’t Christmas or thanksgiving Dutch label Music For Speakers (m4s) is giving away a free cd with previously unreleased tracks. Well okay that’s nice, but what’s the catch? Good question. The only thing is that the cd is available as a downloadable file containing 6 high quality mp3 tracks including the front cover and inlay card. Just buy a recordable cd, burn the tracks on it and you have your free legal Music For Speakers compilation. Good offer.
Especially because Music For Speakers is one of the most interesting electronic music labels at the moment. All tracks on this compilation confirm that. The variety between them is enormous but what resident acts Aardvarck, David Caron, Madcap, Sandor Caron, Sonar Lodge and newcomers Tam Tam (a project by members of Paloma and Berliner Theorie) have in common is their never ending search for new ideas. Cado is full of the result of this new ideas. Like the deranged 2step by Sonar Lodge, Aardvarck’s crooked clicks’n cuts, manical breakbeat by Madcap, David Caron’s chilly uptempo sunny breaks, Sandor Caron’s downtempo interpretation of summer and a surprising mix between clicks’n’cuts and lounge by Tam Tam.
