Italy is not exactly known for its great rock bands. Zuccherro is the one name that comes to mind and he is not the person that'll give the country rock 'n' roll credibility. But now there's Mirsie. On the rather unfortunately titled 'Aliens In A Bra' these Italians lay down some fine neurotic bluespunk. Big inspirators are the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, not by accident from the most Italian city outside of Italy: New York. Mirsie throw in some extra old-school punk and hardrock influences. They end up with their own style, that stills radiates some much good ol' US of A that it is hypocritical to sing 'End this culture of American style / This nation is fucked by America' in 'Nation Code'. Which otherwise is the best track of the album. Other good ones are 'B/M', ''Ash' and 'I Came From The Future (OK)'. The level where you go 'Yeah!' and start jumping around on the furniture is not achieved yet, but Mirsie does get close a few times. So maybe in the near future. Only the two spacey tracks are better avoided, but that still leaves 8 good ones. Which is 8 more than Zuccherro has ever recorded.
