Awesome!! Finally I got it. I've been waiting for the release of this Minus album for a long time. But now it's in my stereo and it's not leaving that place for at least a few months. Minus is a band from Iceland and was formed in 1998. The whole intention was to make incredible "disgusting music". They managed too it and I like it. Many people would say "what's this crap" but those are the people with bad taste and not willing to expand their horizon. When listening to 'Jesus Christ Bobby' for the first time, I was immediately thinking about that concert I saw of The Locust. If you don't know The Locust: it's one big screaming massacre with a bunch of instruments. And that's what Minus does on this album, but then using their own inspiration. Those types of vocals in the middle of an Icelandic paradise full of chaotic guitar riffs, pieces of techno and drums make up this brilliant album. Minus can be described as a big storm in a small cubic box. Imagine you're in the middle of it. It will smash you against all the walls and will never let you go. That's the way I feel when listening to 'Jesus Christ Bobby'. This is an album full of variety. All songs have a different setup. These guys must have an enormous broad taste. Influences of bands like Slipknot, At The Drive In, System Of A Down and some others have been crammed into Minus' creation. Also the ones who like the Sugarcubes can be satisfied with the song 'Modern Haircuts' on which Einar Orn contributes. Great song with deep thoughts. With a spooky intro 'Liquid Courage' leads you into extreme disorientation. Take a few seconds to get back on line and listen to the lyrics. Brilliant! My favourite. 10 Minutes before ending the album, Minus make their return to society by playing a bit more accessible. An opportunity to rest your ears with a little bit slower track called 'Pulse'. This song sounds a bit like At The Drive In or Boy Hits Car but with a different style of vocals. A totally unexpected song on the album, which makes 'Jesus Christ Bobby' even more interesting. Every time a big release to hear this song when repeating the cd over and over. This is probably going to be one of the singles. After that again something typical Minus. Not much time to give some peace to you ears. Track 12 (hidden one) on the album is rewinding the whole F#&%ing cd and that's what we were waiting for. Time to start all over again!
