This is hardcore you can enjoy listening to with your dad. I think that sums up the whole review. Unlike most hardcore bands nowadays, Maximum Penalty consists of great musicians. What should I tell about them? Well, they are from New York, but don't expect the same sound as Madball or Agnostic Front. The thing that separates them from the previously named bands is mostly the vocals. James Wadid Williams can really sing. It isn't the usual screaming or roaring you'd expect from a typical NY hardcoreband. Just listen to tracks like 'Time Of Your Life' or 'Don't Lie To Yourself' and you'll know what I mean. But somehow the later songs on this CD don't move me. The reason could be that I ain't used to listening to this type of music. This is hardcore for people who aren't afraid of a more experimental approach of my favorite music. So, if the first couple of tracks blow you away, buy this CD. But if you think that it sounds kinda nice but not very special I must warn you before you buy this one.
