Louie Austen's doublepack on the Viennese Cheap outlet - our all-time favorite stronghold when it comes to innovative eclectic electronic experiments - was one of the revelations of the previous year, and this EP, produced by Austen's musical partner Martin Neugebauer in collaboration with label boss and full-time genius Patrick Pulsinger is another bullseye. This time we stand amazed at the frank pop song approach of the titlesong - it even comes with a radio mix, would you believe! - supported by Austen's almost anachronistically dramatic Sinatra-inspired crooning vocals. If there were any justice in this life this would be a hit. B-side '... And if you asked' is an instrumental and drives itself forward thanks to an 80s synthpop-style electro groove filled-up with the usual psychedelic sounds and not too obtrusive percussion loops. Cheap: It's a way of life!
