The club itself is legendary, and some will refer to it as the ultimate experience. Others get nausea while trying desperately to pronounce its name. So what about this CD? As I am far from a lover of the club, I was still curious yet to see what it stands for nowadays. Firstly, this release is NOT mixed, it is sequenced, meaning all tracks overlap shortly, but it sure does not come close to the art of mixing. So far, my first disappointment! Too bad in my opinion, but then again some people might just prefer this as it allows you to listen to almost full-length tracks. This CD really isn't my cup of tea. To me it has no flavour whatsoever. It's too much of anything. You will hear influences of New York house, dubby techno, trance mainly of course, and some others somehow. It's some sort of permanent soundscape of mediocrity, and that's the only consistency I can find. I won't go into more detail, like track names and titles. It's all up to you to discover them eventually. If you like the sound of Rocca, you'll most likely adore the CD (at least I think so). For me, the CD is OK as a musical background, a means of filling so-called painful moments of silence throughout tense conversations. And even then only if I would NOT have the choice of location. But, in order to be honest I must admit that I am still looking for the opening track ('True House' in the hard steppin' dub mix by C&M Productions). So if you would come across it in some shop, please notify me...
