The first release of Johnny Zhivago, with Steve Maloney on vocals and guitar (former The Blood Divine-bass player), contains 3 tracks, "Never Enough", No Compromise and "Just wanna be loved". I guess Johnny Zhivago wants to sound like a sleazy rock 'n roll band, but it ends up as some sort of almost-sleazy rock 'n roll. Not that the songs are really bad, first track "Never Enough" does have a certain groove in it, but Johnny Zhivago's music has some 80's hardrock influences I don't like. The songs sound too clean to me. They just miss the, for this kind of music necessary, final touch that makes it all sound mean, sleazy and dirty. They should ask their colleagues in Sweden for some advice.
