When I saw the Portugese band Indigo Blue playing at Access To Amsterdam a month ago, I was astonished by Pedro Botcha, the singer of Indigo Blue. This man has a voice that is so different from most vocalists you usually hear. So different, that I can hardly describe how different - I will not even make an attempt. Now I have Indigo Blue's demo CD, and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. The voice on the demo is just slightly different from the mainstream, and Indigo Blue's quality and advanced rock is not as good as the live version of it. Are Indigo Blue just a live band? I don't think so. They deserve a good production of their material, because that's what's lacking on this demo. That leaves me with two messages: 1. Record companies and record labels - Get yourselves a band that is not simply repeating others or itself, and "exploit" that voice. 2. Indigo Blue, in case no record company shows up - Save some money, and make sure you are able to afford a producer that is able to capture the quite unique Indigo Blue sound.
