Finally I got my hands on the new Hometrust CD. Everybody, including me, had given up on these M-Town rebels. They didn't play a lot of shows last year. Igor plays the drums in Backfire and Boris plays guitar in Right Direction. But while both bands, Right Direction and Backfire, played a lot of shows, they found time to put out a complete new album together. And what a hell of a good album. On the first Hometrust ('The First Time Around') they sounded like the little brother of Right Direction and Backfire and a lot of people where complaining about the sound of Odin's voice. They said Odin's voice sounded too much like Dave Reumers (singer of Right Direction). With this new album Odin drops all that complains right next to him, and he created his own way of singing. Sure, it still sounds a bit the same, but in my opinion that's just a way of singing. The 12 songs on this CD are hard hitting hardcore songs with a lot of M-Town influences. The songs are about friendship, the losses that they had (especially "We will never know", a song dedicated to Richard Bruinen (the former drummer of Backfire)) and about drinking beer and partying. With my own favourite 'The uninvited friend'. This is a hardcore CD the way hardcore is meant to be. Real working class pride.
