What is it about the Fastbacks that I love so much? Is it their heartfelt melodies, their bittersweet lyrics full of life’s pain and happiness? Maybe the nicely-out-of-tune way Kim and Lulu harmonize together or the instantly recognizable way Kurt plays his guitar. I just don’t know. I mean I don’t really like punk or hardrock, but combine these two together with the sugarsweet melodies which the Fastbacks produce and they’ve got me hooked again. Celebrating somewhat 20 years in the rock’n roll-business the Fastbacks released a new record a few weeks ago and it will get me through winter for sure. Punky and rawky though sweet and melodic, every song is a winner baby, that’s the truth.
