Diverse Artiesten | Sunshine Club 3: Meierei

If you're not living in Austria, you might not have heard of Club Meierei in Vienna. This compilation should change that forever. The Meierei is one of those few safe havens for music lovers who don't want to shake their booty to the newest flavour of the month. It's one of those places where 'hot' DJs play long before crappy British mags decide they are hot. And what makes Meierei and this compilation so interesting is that it's definitely got its own sound. A very funky one too, if I might add. Just listen to Lowrider's 'Cold Antipasto,' or the Madrid de Los Austrias flamenco-jazz floor-filler 'Ole' (which is featured here in an excellent remix). But almost every track here is a discovery: 'Jason & Nator,' 'Aisergrond,' 'Fuenfhaus,' and most definitely 'Golden Boogie Connection' are names to be remembered. There's even a bit of hip-hop with the irresistable 'Who Got The Key' by Cream Shower. If you're into the German/Austrian fusion of jazz, soul, funk and dub, then you'll have to agree that this is one fine compilation.
