In between the respected Kozzmozz parties in Belgium you can enjoy the K-vibe through their compilations compiled by resident dj's T-Quest & Kozz. Dj's featured on past parties are the likes of Kenny Larkin, Jeff Mills, Damon Wild, The Advent and many more.
Also 'Spread the K' features some very interesting artists like Keith Tucker, Justin Berkovi, DJ Pierre, Jay Denham, Ben Sims, Dreexciya and David Carretta who hits off apropriately with 'Cosmos 70', a tribute to the discovery of space in the typical 'International Deejay Gigolo' electro-style. This retro-electro vibe stays in the tracks by Synapse, DJ K1 (aka Keith Tucker) & Justin Berkovi proving that the goal of this compilation is not strictly providing dancefloor material but is rather an interesting excursion into the universe of electronics. With Chicago Acid-House pioneer DJ Pierre the speed is pitched to a higher level with a very dry & minimalistic tune 'Matrix Chamber' with a voice sample reminiscent of the crazy dread in The Orb's classic 'Perpetual dawn'. The pace of the beats stays the same in the following tracks by Gillespie and Jay Denham (with a non-surprising Black Nation sample 'It's time for black power'). The compilation continues with the weird but interesting 'Cyclone' by Technasia while Ben Sims's Reverser is being remixed by Tresor's Pacou transforming it into a typical Kozzmozz 'grinding beat'-fest.
The Kozzmozz sound continues with 'Nubian Day' by Soul Destroyaz, an alter ego for Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean, formerly and better known as The Advent. Chris McCormack delivers a Mills-clone (Waveform Transmission era) called 'The Maximalist A1' and Drexciya simply donates 'Species of the pod' fromt their recent 'Neptune's Lair' labum on Tresor. The 76 minutes compilation ends with the atmospheric after hours track 'Signals' by Microworld but I'm sure we haven't reached the end of the Kozzmozz yet as the parties itself are spreading internationally at several locations as The End in London, Space in Ibiza and even at this year's Pinkpop festival in The Netherlands.
