After the two Fully Fledged compilations, german electro-techno imprint Kanzleramt starts off with a new series of CD compilations. This time the output is limited to one cd instead of a double cd, which means you get less music for you money but it also means there is no room for fillers. Nothing but quality stuff here, with that typical dark, electro-ish sound of Kanzleramt. Lots of familiar names too, with Dj Slip, Heiko Laux, Christian Morgenstern and off course Johannes Heil. And there's something for everyone: loopy techno (Christian Borée), electro (Family Lounge), tribal techno (Dj Slip), deep tech-house (Double X) or straight 4 to the floor beats (Heiko Laux). Highlights include the electro anthem 'Children of the Night' by Johannes Heil, the incredibly deep 'Feel X' by Double X and 'Phazed In' by Diego & Voco Derman, a track that sounds like it was made by Basic Channel maestro Moritz von Oswald himself. This is an excellent compilation that once again proves that Germany is the hottest place in Europe when it comes to techno.
