One of the key figures of the Chicago scene, with his labels Blue Cucaracha and Sound Patrol, one of the key figures of the UK house scene also through his co-ownership with Freaks honcho Luke Solomon of the top Classic label, one of the most respected DJs in the community, a-thousand-or-so remixes, and now on top of all this three brilliant EPs in a row on Classic: Derrick Carter must be a very busy man. But he delivers again on this strangely-titled three-tracker that contains joyous, yet freaky and unconventional house music. The A-side 'End of the Line', co-produced with the Salt City Orchestra boys, is all smooth and soulful vocals over your face with Carter pimp-talking like on his two previous Pschidt EPs, while the flipside flips the lid with a dose of party house for the year 2000, mixing up old-skool rhymes and cheesy Italo-house synthnoises in a general party atmosphere, with the absolutely essential '10' as the looker of the record. Totally digital disco, the man himself calls it. We can but concur...
