Celldust | In Motion
The Dutch Deftones?

While listening to Dutch nu-metalcrew Celldust's CD-Demo (nice package, by the way! It's a digipack!), immediately a band like Deftones comes to mind. The songs and vocalist MIChael's voice sound just as fragile as Deftones with their vocalist Chino. But it wouldn't be fair to just compare these guys to Deftones, although it's a nice compliment. With 2 guitarists and a sampler Celldust offers more. The album starts with a phat sampled intro, and continues with the song 'Motion', a nice and emotional song. This song sets the standard for the rest of the album, which contains six songs. The production is very good and balanced. The band themselves and Mark Nijssen were responsible for this. Overall the band really sounds mature; it's a nice step forward in becoming our own Dutch 'White Pony'. But a little more variation and, if you would ask me, more use of sampling would do very well for these hot newcomers.
