"Servin It Up" by Atomic Hooligan was one of the best new breakbeat releases of the past month. Perfectly balanced funky breakbeat. "Clubshaker" and "2001" is the second release by Watford based Matt Welch and Terry Ryan. Again their material is a mixture of style. "Clubshaker" is hiphop orientated with a dark but funky attitude. The deep nu skool basslines mixed well with the melodic strings and funky flavour that gives the track a kind off "Tricky meets McMillan" feel. Much more open and atmospheric is b-side "2001". A fast dancefloor track inspired by early rave and filled with elements of Eastern music. Watch out for the funky synths lines. Great track. Atomic Hooligan are working on new material. Hardly can't wait.
