Felix da Housecat may have had a huge hit with last year's 'My life music' and the subsequent 'I know Electrikboy'-album, he obviously does not care to rest on his laurels. His Chicago-based Clashback imprint has started all over again from scratch and this is already the fifth release in a few months. And the man delivers again: Four stomping Chi-town funktracks creating a torrid wild-pitch wall of sound, with the outstanding 'Groove train' -yes, delivered with the genuine steamtrain sound- as earcatcher, but the highly filtered percussive sounds of 'Drainpipe' or 'Tri-Beka', a cut-up of Larry Heard's 'Play it Loud' and the rhetorical stabs of the Honorable Martin Luther King are just as enjoyable. No difficult music, just partyloops and dj tools, but very likely to turn up in a future Luke Slater, Mark Broom or even Jeff Mills set. For those who like their shit tracky and a little rough.
