The problem in the past with 35007 were the vocals. They couldn't compete with the high level of their psychedelic spacerock outbursts, making listening to a whole 35007 record a bit difficult, to say the least. Now, with their first release since 1997, the problem is solved: They turned instrumental. The right choice, because this three-track 10" record is the best 35007 record to date. It's still the same flight mission they started years ago, but it never sounded so impressive or convincing. Somewhere between Motorpsycho's pure space outbursts and early dope-driven Monster Magnet sounds, 35007 adds essential analog synth-wooshes, dialogue samples, subtle, yet demanding grooves, and a very unique guitar sound. This EP makes me start craving for a new full-length album.
