Deftones & Glassjaw: Loud Allnighter

Anyone that thinks the Deftones has lost it, is wrong. Last night the Deftones and Glassjaw pulled into San Francisco Warfield Theatre and blew away everyone with two great performances.
I was pumped so much for Glassjaw. These guys are an amazing band which they carried over live. The vocals needed to be turned up a little more, but overall they were bad ass and they didn't even play 'Ry Ry's Song'. Their set was (in order): 'Pretty Lush', 'When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros', 'Siberian Kiss', 'Piano', 'Lovebites And Razorlines', 'Babe', 'Her Middle Name Was Boom', 'Hotel Of The White Locust'. After a short break it was time for the Deftones to hit the stage and so they did for very loud and receptive crowd. They played most of the 'Around The Fur' cd, very little 'White Pony' in this set. They even tossed in a couple covers, 'To Have And To Hold' and 'Say It Ain't So', which they put into '7 Words'. Instead of doing the "squeal like a pig" part they jumped into 'Say It Ain't So'. After that they completed '7 Words'. The set was very good I thought. The songs that really stuck out were 'Digital Bath', 'Bored', and 'Mx'. Those songs just seemed to be above the rest. The set was (in order): 'Be Quiet And Drive', 'My Own Summer', 'Root', 'Bored', 'Feiticeira', 'Change', 'Korea', 'Mx', Mascara', 'Around The Fur', 'Digital Bath', 'Lotion' and '7 Words/Say It Ain't So'. The encore: 'To Have And To Hold', 'Engine #9' and 'Headup'.
This was a fun night and turned kinda interesting when I got back to the parking garage at 1:40 a.m. only to see the gates were locked at 1 a.m., but that's another story, hahaha! The Warfield is a great place to see a show, best venue I've been to by far and this is a great bill, I can't wait to see it again next Monday in Sacto.
