How did you end up with the name 'Bis'?
"It's the first letters of each of our pet's names."
Are you continuing the sound of 'Social Dancing' or is the new stuff going to be completely different?
"It's kind of in the same vein, but better I think. The new stuff is very advanced sounding, and has more 'going on'."
What about the near future? Any plans you want to unveil?
"We're just finishing a mini album to be released in Britain March-ish next
year. It will have 6 or 7 songs, and features the 2 new ones that we've
been playing live."
What happened with the 'punky' explosions, as experienced in the early work of Bis? Where did
the more dance-related sound come from?
"that's John and Steven beating me up, and not letting me write punk songs anymore."
Can you explain the rising star of Scottish bands the last two years? Does it stimulate?
"It's not risen, it's just that some journalists actually got off their arses
and went somewhere out of London to listen to music. These bands have been
around for ages, but just because they're not in the central music 'area'
they go unnoticed."
Listening to your music frequently reminds us to the teenage idols in the 80s. How do you feel about the current teen idols (e.g. Britney Spears, Boyzone) and do you think this is an improvement with lets say 10 years ago?
"Nothing has really changed I suppose. Idols are just a dream of what
teenagers at that point want to be. These days guys want to look clean cut
with nice shirts tucked in, and girls want to look cute but sexy. Where
did I go wrong huh?"
Which record reminds you of school?
"The Grease megamix single."
What do you think of the Internet and MP3 distribution in particular?
"I'm not to up to date with it to be honest. I do like the internet, but
in Britain computers are so expensive that I find it unfair for bands to
have internet only releases."
If you were jailed in a prison, and there was one song on the PA playing over and over again as punishment, what song is it?
"Babybird - your gorgeous"
What is your interest in bands today? What do you listen to?
"Discount, bikini killl, sleater-kinney, the bangs, mocket, green day, the
Donnas, the slits."
What's the worst trouble you've been in while 'on the road'?
"Letting fireworks off illegally in the middle of the day in the desert."
